Establish A New Fund

Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation enables donors to create a lasting legacy by establishing a charitable fund. You can be certain that your money serves your specific, desired purpose, and that you, or the person in whose name the foundation is established, will be forever honored. No matter what your charitable interest is or the size of your gift, CPCF offers many ways in which you can help.

Undesignated Funds

You enable CPCF to respond to the most critical situations
The income from these flexible funds provides grants each year to organizations with the most critical needs.

Designated Funds

You choose which charity will receive your lasting support
When you establish the fund, you select the charity or charities to be supported with the fund™s annual income.

Donor Advised Funds

You can be actively involved in choosing current grant recipients
Each year, you (and any others you name), provide a recommendations for which charities the annual income will support.

Field-of-Interest Funds

You choose your general funding category
You designate your area of interest and each year, the most promising projects in that field will receive funding.

Scholarship Funds

You help educate a deserving student
You may select the course of study, the school or university, and the criteria to be used in selecting the scholarship recipient.

Agency Funds

You align your organization with CPCF
Instead of having to establish their own foundation, organizations can establish one under the CPCF umbrella. This ensures long-term funding and alleviates often complex administrative duties.

Legacy Society

You can become a member of the Legacy Society by naming Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation as the beneficiary of any type of planned or deferred gift and by agreeing to have your name listed. There is no minimum to qualify and Legacy Society members may designate how the distributions from their future gifts may be used, including establishing a new fund, adding to an existing fund, or supporting the operations of the Foundation.

Foundation Fellows

By contributing $1,000, you or someone you designate can be named a Central Pennsylvania Foundation Fellow. Half of your donation is used to support the operation of the Foundation, and half is placed in the permanent Community Fund.

Sustaining Visionary

Your contribution to the Sustaining Visionary Fund provides additional funding for the Foundations competitive grant program. You may direct your contribution to one of the following areas: Animals, Arts, Economic and Community Development, Education, Health Care or Social Services. Donations you set the amount to the Sustaining Visionary Fund may be billed annually or semi-annually.

Educational Improvement Tax Credit

Your eligible business can earn tax credits while helping children and young people. Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation administers the EITC program through which eligible businesses receive tax credits for contributions made to the foundation’s Scholarship Organization, Educational Improvement Organization, and/or Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization. Businesses can receive tax credits equal to 75% of its contribution (up to a maximum of $200,000) per taxable year. The credit can be increased to 90% if a business agrees to contribute the same amount for two consecutive tax years. Since its inception, many local businesses have taken advantage of this mutually beneficial program. Businesses authorized to do business in Pennsylvania who are subject to one or more of the following taxes are eligible: Corporate Net Income Tax, Capital Stock Franchise Tax, Bank and Trust Company Shares Tax, Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax, Insurance Premiums Tax, or Mutual Thrift Institution Tax.
